Front, Field, Line, Plane

The social and political demands of civil unrest are all too easily reduced to depictions of direct, manifest – in contrast to latent structural – violence or to just another instance of representatives of the state power struggling with protestors. Starting from that premise, the research and exhibition project Front, Field, Line, Plane. Researching the Militant Image questioned how political and social struggles – and state violence – are represented, mediated, and circulated through images and architecture.
