adocs is an independent publishing project based in Hamburg. Since 2011, we have been publishing books in the fields of architecture, urbanism and design theory, visual culture and sound, artistic research, and literature.

Our publishing practice is grounded in a productive interplay of research, networking, publishing, and knowledge exchange. Our publications engage with experimental forms of design, conceptual approaches, and practices of everyday life. Their methods range from documentary and subjective to theoretical, analytical, and narrative. Each publication is developed collaboratively through a close and committed dialogue between the publisher and its authors.

Since 2023, adocs has operated as a non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH), expanding its activities beyond publishing to develop and produce projects in the field of artistic and academic research.
