Design der Knappheit
Studienhefte Problemorientiertes Design | Heft #7
We encounter scarcity everywhere. Scarcity is something of a constant threat; at the same time, it is a reality we are confronted with. We cannot expect design to solve or overcome the problem of scarcity. Rather, the goal is to shed light on the underlying forces and gain a better understanding of how our conceptions of scarcity are based on economic constructs.
It affects us all and shapes our ecological, economic, and political future.
It is often accepted as a given—one almost gets the impression that we are helplessly at its mercy. But what if scarcity isn’t as inevitable as it seems? How might we then address it within our disciplines of architecture, design, and aesthetics?
