Sense of Space
Preposition of Place
"We go inside first, decide what kind of world we want to experience and then project that world outside, making it the truth as we experience it."
In this book, the artist Masixole Ncevu explores the Schlosspark in Plauen through photographic and anthropological observation. He investigates the relationship between meanings embedded in space and the subjective experience of place. The “preposition of place”—that is, the relationships between people, objects, and things—reconfigures movement and interaction across time and space, generating forms of knowledge that are shaped as much by emotional perceptions of the world as by physical experience.
Through photographs, drawings, and texts, Ncevu demonstrates how seeing, touching, and hearing work together to create an immersive experience of space.
