In his book, Frieder Bohaumilitzky examines how right-wing thought is bound up with things. He documents how the ambivalent idea of political subjectivation through things could take shape as a comprehensive dispositif – from abstract arguments by contemporary philosophers to concrete right-wing cultural positions of the present day. In doing so, he shows that essentialist patterns of thought and authoritarian longings were present in the discourses early on, how this thinking was made productive, and how it was ultimately applied to civil society through right-wing metapolitics. He no longer locates right-wing thought merely at the margins of society, but shows how it emerges from society's supposed center.
