metroZine #3 Das Atmen der Bilder
Schwarze Löcher und forensische Imagination
How do images function in contexts of extreme violence? How can we tell stories of violent disappearances without reproducing the necropolitics of disappearance, or of resistance without resorting to kitsch or hero worship? How do we move from the linear narrative to a narrative space?
Anne Huffschmid’s essay describes an approach to the landscapes of violence surrounding disappearance using audiovisual means and reconstructs the editing of the documentary Persistencia and the interactive web documentary Forensic Landscapes as an attempt and a process of making these stories tellable.
