Realität – Theater – Körper – Aneignung – Übersetzung – Transfer

São Paulo 2019: Five artists, publishers, and philosophers sit on a rooftop terrace in the city center and explore the possibility of a theater that not only speaks for the oppressed but is itself a “Theater of the Oppressed”. Frauke Zabel, the German artist who invites them to this conversation asks herself: How can I make this conversation heard from the periphery of global capitalism in Germany without speaking for the participants, without speaking in their place?
The self-critical process culminates in a reenactment of the conversation in the council chamber of Munich's New Town Hall. There, the audience is granted insight into the many pressing questions that arise not only in light of the political and ecological crisis in Brazil. The transcript of the conversation, interwoven with additional commentaries, ultimately takes shape as a theatre play.
