An Architektur 15
European Migration Geographies, Poland
Borders and camps are spaces of migration control. They serve the purposes of surveillance and administration and are simultaneously places of residence and transit zones for migration. A specific feature of the migration regime manifests itself in their legal and spatial contradictions. It aims less at a final state of hermetic sealing-off at the EU’s external borders than at strategic regulation and disenfranchisement, thereby responding to the independent dynamics of migration.
With thematic maps and texts on migration, borders, and camps; 8 double-sided maps.
A collaboration between the Research Association on Flight and Migration and “An Architektur” as part of the TRANSIT MIGRATION project for the exhibition “Projekt Migration.”
