Camp for Oppositional Architecture
The “Camp for Oppositional Architecture” explores possible avenues of resistance in the fields of architecture and planning. It examines and discusses oppositional perspectives that critique the demands of capitalist production of the built environment and attempt to assume a non-affirmative role within this powerful continuum. What might politically relevant and emancipatory work in the fields of planning and architecture look like today? Are there ways to productively challenge and combat the social order from within the realm of planning? What oppositional stances, practices, strategies, or coalitions are conceivable and feasible today?
With contributions by Bryan Bell, Simone Hain, Peter Marcuse, and Roemer van Toorn, as well as an interview with Jos Bosman, Achim Felz, Kai Lemberg, and Franziska Bollerey (on: IKAS – An Experiment in Extra-Parliamentary Architectural Opposition), and many more.
